My father’s family originated in England and Denmark and immigrated to Ontario in the late 1800s and early 1900s. My mother’s family roots are essentially English and Scots who immigrated to Cape Breton in the 1700 and 1800s.

In order to facilitate record-keeping  and searching the database I have standardized all “Mc” surnames to “Mac”.  i.e. McLeod is uniformly MacLeod and so on.
